Come join our team as we embark on an exciting journey in opening our new Office Furniture manufacturing facility in Milford, IA! As a Quality Manager with Mayline - Safco, you will be working cross functionally leading continuous improvement efforts for manufactured products and other business streamlining initiatives. The Quality Manager will be responsible for mentoring and ensuring effectiveness for a team of quality engineers/technicians, directing work relating to monitoring customer/supplier relations, supporting strategic planning, deployment activities and product liability claims. This full-time position reports directly to the Plant Manager, and is located in Mayline-Safco’s recently acquired plant located in Milford, IA. ADDITIONALLY, IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: Be responsible for managing the plant Quality staff and the department strategy as it relates to overall quality and compliance. Coach, lead, and mentor quality team Lead and participate in cross-functional teams that drive product and process improvement Establish and implement measurements and metrics to enable the organization to make sound product quality decisions Establish and maintain standards for product inspection that support organizational quality goals and objectives Support new product development with respect to quality standards, inspection, test methods and equipment, supplier needs, drawing and specification clarity and completeness Champion root-cause analysis and other problem solving activities to determine and drive effective corrective action and product /process improvement Develop and conduct quality orientation programs for all plant personnel to ensure an understanding of quality objectives, programs, plans and techniques. Audit and determine that prescribed plans and programs are being followed, ensuring that employees and processes are in compliance to quality standards set forth by governmental regulations. Ensure effective working relationships with all QA/QC partners, including new product development, customer service, sourcing, external testing facilities, suppliers, and remote quality team members Serve as a liaison with customers to resolve quality issues Standardize plant quality processes, procedures and metrics as applicable working with the New Hope Quality Manager Manage timely problem identification and resolution of quality issues in support of customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, product conformity and risk management Develop, implement and maintain supplier quality management processes to ensure acceptable quality levels / cost Required Skills You WILL excel in this role if: You have a passion for getting things right – the first time. TO QUALIFY, YOU WILL BRING: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical degree or equivalent experience. Minimum 10 years Engineering / Quality management in a manufacturing environment Experience managing teams of direct reports and leading cross-functional teams Strong project management experience Strong problem solving and analytical skills Strong communication and facilitation skills Demonstrated practical application of applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the manufacture of consumer goods.
