This year’s Corridor Gift Guide will be taking a different form. What previously was printed and distributed each year will now be posted on our weekly blog. You, lucky reader, are getting the very first glimpse of some of the goodies that are made right here in the Corridor. These entrepreneurs work extremely hard to come up with innovative and unique products for your viewing and purchasing pleasure. I would encourage you to visit their websites/stores to gather some personalized and thoughtful holiday gift ideas for the upcoming season.

McGee Gallery and Framing
Barbara McGee owns and operates McGee Gallery and Framing in Peterson, Iowa. The gallery includes Barbara’s studio and frame shop. She does a wide range of subject matter in watercolor and oils, which mainly depict western and rural images with a smattering of flowers and autos. Barbara prides herself on offering professional framing in a hurry, for less. Reason being, she has a large number of moldings in stock so that your request can be completed within two days or less! Click here to see all of her work.
Clay County Clay
Mel Myers produces hand thrown, hand-carved pottery made in the Spencer area. These one-of-a-kind creations are both functional and decorative. The studio is home to vases, lidded jars, bowls, covered casseroles and plates. Original and beautiful colors are used to fit to your individualized color preference. This master potter has over 30 years of ceramic experience under his belt and is excited to share it all with you. Visit his studio at 717 11th Ave East in Spencer or call 712.580.CLAY (2529).
Don’t these places sound awesome? I have to admit I’m quite jealous of all their hard work; my artistic abilities are nonexistent, it seems.
If you or someone you know would like to be included on this year’s Corridor Gift Guide, please email Alexa at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Corridor at 712.264.3474. The Guide will be posted each Wednesday; we’d love to help feature your creative spirits.
