It’s round 2, ladies and gents… Sorry for not posting last week; I was a little under the weather. That being said, I hope all of you are staying healthy as the cold & flu season takes over.
Arts on Grand
There are many fun things happening in the near future at Arts on Grand. On Monday, December 9, from 6-8 p.m. Grand Meander will be taking place. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be greeting the public in the front window. The Alexander Brothers Piano Trio (David Ray, John Douglas, William Emerson) will be playing during this time, as well. PLUS, there are 25 large prints from The Saint John’s Bible on exhibit throughout the time slot and the rest of the holiday season. This is a perfect time to check them all out! Once you’re in, there will be a selection of books, portfolios, greeting cards, etc. for purchase. If you haven’t gotten your honey something special for Christmas, Arts on Grand is a great place to start!
Oak Hill Designs
Click here to check out the site. I’m going to let it speak for itself; totally awesome jewelry, for all you fanatics out there. And if you haven’t gotten me a present yet, you may use this sentence as your helpful hint.
Cool name, huh? Joleen Dentlinger has created a studio of goodies in Storm Lake. Housed in this creative castle are Pen and Ink drawings of rural Iowa, including landscapes, barns and points of interest. This is a perfect gift idea for those family members of yours that are from Iowa but have since moved elsewhere (let’s try and entice them to come back to us). For more information, you can email Joleen at email@example.com or by calling her at 712.732.6286.
Set Apart Photography
Ian Van Schepen…quite the little photographer. I hadn’t heard about or seen much of his work until recently visiting his website. Holy moly! I can’t get over how awesome the pictures are. His fine art photography landed him a spot on my bucket list of things I need to purchase in the Corridor region. My list is substantially growing with each Gift Guide post…uh oh! Click here or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
Goodies Handmade Candies
Handmade candies; need I say more? For all you fellow Corridor folk with a sweet tooth, this is the place for you. This business first opened over 26 years ago and has turned itself into a “must stop” destination in the Iowa Great Lakes area. From fudge to toffees to caramels, it’s easy to see how this tasty little shop would succeed in our area. Be sure to check out their website here for a complete listing of treats, or stop in the store before your next holiday party. Your guests won’t be disappointed.
Take a gander at these local entrepreneurs while you’re out and about this shopping season. Enjoy!
