For the past 11 years, Webb Wireless of Webb, IA has had the pleasure of providing reliable and affordable internet service to rural and small-town homes and businesses.  Those services were recently transitioned to IGL TeleConnect and Webb Wireless customers became a part of the IGL subscriber family.

Located at 1713 McNaughton Way in Spencer, IGL TeleConnect is a local communications provider to the Iowa Great Lakes and surrounding communities, and a recent recipient of the 2014 Small Business Excellence Award as voted by their peers within the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation.  IGL TeleConnect’s coverage zone now extends throughout the Iowa counties of Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Palo Alto, O’Brien, Osceola, as well as some southern Minnesota areas of Jackson and Nobles counties.

With the transition to IGL Teleconnect, Webb Wireless customers can expect the same level of service, keep their current email address, and continue to receive local customer service.

“IGL TeleConnect is committed to utilizing the latest wireless technologies and we are confident they will continue our tradition of outstanding wireless service,” shares Tim Sylvester, co-owner of Webb Wireless.

“IGL TeleConnect is active in and supports the local communities they serve.  That’s always been important to us and we’re assured they will continue that tradition,” states Denny Somers, co-owner of Webb Wireless.

“Acquiring Webb Wireless’ service area and local towers supports our long-term plans to expand internet access throughout underserved areas in northwest Iowa in accordance with the Governor’s initiative”,  says Kellie Beneke, President of IGL TeleConnect.

Currently, Iowa ranks 11th out of 12 Midwestern states on the TechNet Broadband Index.  Governor Branstad’s “Connect Every Iowan” initiative seeks to increase the access, adoption, and use of broadband internet technologies, with the goal of positioning Iowa as the top broadband-connected Midwestern state.
