Thursday, September 29, 2016

Experience matters to employers looking to fill job openings.

That’s why the Spencer Area Jobs Trust‘s Student Internship Program offers Clay County businesses and organizations the support and financial resources needed to make internship opportunities available to students.

"The Spencer Area Jobs Trust Internship Program has been a successful program for Spencer businesses and our community," said Ryan Johnson, president of the Spencer Area Jobs Trust. "The program provides real life job experience and a competitive wage to interns in their fields of interest."

The program strives to give students a significant learning experience, while helping employers recruit skilled workers. Businesses are awarded up to $3,000 per internship and can apply for up to three interns per fiscal year.

"The Spencer Area Jobs Trust created the program to strengthen our workforce and create life long residents of the Spencer community," Johnson said. "The internship program is another example of our community working together to further enhance our quality of life in Spencer.”
