About Siouxland Lean Consortium and the Annual Regional Lean Conference
The Siouxland Lean Consortium strives to bring prosperity to the Northwest Iowa and Tri-State regionby strengthening our employment base through the sharing ofLean business knowledge, implementation techniques, best practices, and providing Lean training and education.
The SLC Regional Conference is an annual event where all those interested in learning about Lean can come to hear different speakers as well as network with other Lean practitioners. Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to hear from two keynote speakers and six breakout session presenters as they tell their stories and share their lean experiences. 2017 Keynote Speakers
Jamie Flinchbaugh - Lean Advisor, Speaker, Author
This year, we are proud to present Jamie Flinchbaugh as our morning keynote speaker. In addition to co-founding the Lean Learning Center, Jamie has helped build nearly 20 companies as either a co-founder, board member, advisor, or angel investor. These companies range from high-performance motorcycles to SaaS tools for continuous improvement. He has advised over 300 companies around the world in lean transformation, including Intel, Harley-Davidson, Crayola, BMW, and Amazon.
Jamie co-authored the popular book The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Lean, and continues to share his experiences as a Contributing Editor for IndustryWeek and as a blogger at JamieFlinchbaugh.com. He holds degrees from Lehigh University, University of Michigan, and MIT, and continues to teach and mentor on campus.
Jamie is best known for helping to transform how we think about lean from a tools-centric model to one based on principles and behaviors. His passion for lean transformation comes from seeking to unlock the great potential that people possess to build inspiring organizations.
Tim Carpenter - Vice President of Operations, Lincoln Industries
For our lunch keynote speaker, we are proud to present Tim Carpenter. Tim has over 18 years of leadership experience in the manufacturing industry. As a former Nebraska football player and national champion, he knows a thing or two about leading a team and working towards a common goal. Tim’s passion for culture and experience in lean manufacturing result in his unique ability to drive engagement and performance.
Today, Tim serves as Vice President, Operations for Lincoln Industries, the largest and most diverse privately-held metal finishing company in North America. His people-centric leadership style has led to productivity, continuous improvement and lean initiatives that have helped propel the company through their tradition of strategic growth.
Prior to Lincoln Industries, Tim spent 13 years with Pella Corporation serving in a variety of manufacturing leadership roles. Tim’s outward mindset and belief in investing in people first has allowed him to transform the cultures of manufacturing companies to result in optimal performance.
