The Iowa Lakes Corridor region covers 1920 square miles and has a population density of 33.1 per mile. According to the US Census Bureau, the total population of the region in 2008 was estimated to be 63,625. From 1990 to 2000 the region grew by 1,206 people to 65,234, an increase of 1.88%. This decade shows the region experiencing a slight decline overall. Three of the four counties have lost population while Dickinson County posted an estimated 2.1% increase between 2000 and 2008.
