Spencer Chamber Foundation Launches Flood Recovery Fund

Spencer, IA – August 6, 2024 – The Spencer Chamber Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the Flood Recovery Fund to help those affected by recent flooding. This fund aims to support residents and businesses in Spencer who have faced losses due to the disaster.

To date, the Chamber Foundation has received approximately $250,000 in donations ranging from $10.00 - $50,000.00. Every donation received from June 22, 2024 counts towards providing hope to individuals and businesses impacted by the flood.

"We are committed to helping our community rebuild and recover," said Sheriffa Jones, Executive Director of the Spencer Chamber & Chamber Foundation. "These funds will provide some assistance to those who have been impacted by the flood."

"After our initial (BRE) meeting, Joanne and I started discussing challenges that we were facing and warehouse space was at the top of our issues. She asked me if we had interest in taking a look at the Daily Reporter building as they were wanting to possibly downsize their location. Jo did all of the leg work in arranging a meeting between Doll’s and the Daily Reporter. She even was present the day that we looked at the facility. Basically, without Jo, we could of possibly never been told that a solution to our warehouse needs was 4 blocks away!
