Qualifications:
- Knowledge of accounting & financial reporting principles - Ability to read and post numeric data accurately - Ability to work with increasing independence and responsibility - Ability to handle varied tasks simultaneously - General computer skills, including Microsoft office products and ability to adapt to and implement new technology - Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers - Comprehensive reading, writing, calculation - Ability to develop a project and follow through to completion - Effective communication with the public - Ability to use discretion in working with vendors, following ethical procedures - Confidentially - Meet deadlines; answer questions; and prioritize projects Education Requirements: - Graduation from high school or an equivalent - Two (2) years of experience in an area related to accounting - A 2-year business or accounting degree is preferred; may consider any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities - Must pass background & drug screening prior to Employment

Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Maintenance of General Ledger - Maintain Fixed Asset Schedule; Maintain property schedules for city’s property insurance policy - Purchasing agent for supplies - Supports and cooperates with all City Departments in financial functions - Reports, including but not limited to bank reconciliation, sales tax reports, landfill and solid waste reports - Records Retention - Workers Compensation/Property and Liability Insurance Claims & Records - Secretary to Boards & Commissions as assigned - Other duties as assigned
