Employer Listening Session with Iowa Workforce Development

Iowa Workforce Development (IWD), in collaboration with the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation, is hosting a regional Employer Listening Session to better understand current workforce challenges, emerging needs, and opportunities for enhanced support. IWD wants to hear directly from employers throughout our region. This session is part of a statewide initiative designed to strengthen engagement with Iowa’s employers and ensure that workforce programs remain responsive to the evolving needs of businesses.

These listening sessions center employer voices—providing a dedicated forum to share insights, discuss barriers, and identify trends influencing recruitment, retention, and long-term talent development. Participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with IWD leadership, ask questions, and explore practical strategies to support workforce growth in the region.

The session will also feature updates on workforce initiatives, available employer resources, and ongoing efforts to expand talent pipelines across Iowa, including LMI and regional data. Feedback collected will guide future program development, strengthen partnerships, and help shape statewide workforce strategies that are informed by the real-time experiences of local employers.
