The Power of a Mentor

10 Feb 2016

According to research, nearly 50% of young entrepreneurs fail without a mentor, while around 88%, with the guidance of someone more experienced, succeed.

Within the Iowa Lakes Corridor region, the goal is not to simply create economic stability and development in the present, but for the future. One of Iowa Lakes CDC’s ways of approaching the future is by investing in the youth – by providing mentors for those who will one day work throughout the region. Hosting the Entrepreneurship Academy for nearly ten years now, the Iowa Lakes CDC aims to help middle school students understand the core concepts of business through small group projects and hands on experience.

Likewise, there are over 1,500 students throughout the Corridor region involved in Junior Achievement, an organization that has been dedicated to the mentoring of young entrepreneurs for nearly 100 years. Rest assured that while you focus on finding a relaxing present, the Iowa Lakes CDC is helping to prepare your children for the future.
