Rust's Western Shed expands and offers more products

There's a new sheriff in town, who actually has a new store addition to the established downtown Storm Lake business that is Rust's Western Shed. Mike Rust, who has been in the shoe repair and sales business for 31 years, has expanded his store to a space next door to the original store. The new addition offers men's formal wear, an expanded jeans selection, as well as shirts, boots, and shoes.

"Thirty one years ago, if you told me I'm doing what I'm doing now, I wouldn't think it would have been possible," says Mike. Mike, a Harlan, Iowa native, learned shoe repair from his father, and brought his well - needed talents to Storm Lake many years ago, servicing both the blue and white collar workers of the area. " The old adage goes if you're not growing in business, you're dying, so we saw an opportunity, and decided to run with it," says Mike.
