Some Iowa Lakes students and faculty members may soon have access to the latest technology in their field.
The community college was awarded a nearly $1.7 million Title III grant from the U.S. Department of Education last Wednesday to help update and enhance technology in the classroom. Funds from the grant will be allocated throughout five years, with $455,000 slated for this year.
"We feel this grant will help us provide updated technology as well as flexible teaching methods for students to learn in an improved environment which, in turn, will increase enrollment, retention, completion and success rates of students," Iowa Lakes President Valerie Newhouse said. "This grant also offers great opportunities for professional development for our faculty."
