Iowa, one of the windiest states?

It’s true! Iowa ranks No. 5 in terms of windiest weather. Wind power now makes up more than a quarter of all the electricity generated in the state.
To make the most of this natural resource, Windtest, a German wind energy company, has located it North American headquarters in Estherville. The company offices are in the Sustainable Energy Resource Technology building at Iowa Lakes Community College.
