Blue Zones Summit spurs Spencer growth

The second Blue Zones Summit concluded in Fort Worth, Texas, earlier this week and Spencer City Manager Bob Fagen returned with many new contacts and ideas to further the program.
"There were people from all across the country, including Hawaii, who are really starting to dig deep into this," Fagen said. "Most of us that were there have already been certified as Blue Zones. Some are in the process of trying to figure it out."
Fagen recalled that the group was shown cumulative data regarding the impact of the program and that it showed several million people have become healthier in some form.
