On Nov. 4, a group of women from around the region will come together with one aim in mind: aiding area nonprofits.
The 100+ Women Who Care will meet at the Softail Saloon in Superior from 6:30-8 p.m. for its quarterly meeting where they will enjoy some fellowship before deciding on an area nonprofit which will benefit from the $100 contribution made by each woman in attendance. This is the third such quarterly gathering. A total of $13,000 has been collected and distributed to the Shayla Bee Fund in Spencer and The Bridge in Storm Lake as a result of the first two get-togethers.
The 100+ Women Who Care Iowa Great Lakes Chapter is based on similar successful initiatives around the country including nonprofits in Fort Dodge, Des Moines and Cedar Rapids.
