Affordable housing and a better life

27 Feb 2017

A social policy think tank, the Center for the Study of Social Policy, reports that affordable housing is directly linked to less crime, more stable families and better prospects for children’s futures.

That’s one of the reasons the Iowa Lakes Corridor gets high marks for quality of life. Houses range from $78,600 to $153,000, while in the country as a whole, the 2010 median value was $187,500. The cost of living is also low, slightly above the national average for small towns.

Other positive factors include the number of schools, availability of healthcare and wide selection of outdoor recreation opportunities. Here is more information: http://ow.ly/rRjk303FqnX.
