Art connects

Gallup and the Knight Foundation researched how residents feel about art in a community. Surprisingly, they discovered it is one of the top 5 magnets that attract people to an area, rated far above jobs and safety.

In Iowa’s Lakes Corridor, art is a central part of the social fabric. The Okoboji Summer Theatre and several community theaters are thriving. The Artists Road Trip brings the work of local artists into the community. ArtsLIVE is working to slowly but surely make the Lakes Corridor a destination year round for people interested in all areas of the arts. (More info here: http://ow.ly/T9Bi303Fuk6.)

On a regular basis, residents can enjoy the works of local and national artists at area art centers and galleries. It’s all part of the good life in the Iowa Lakes Corridor, where people are lifelong learners and practitioners of the fine art of a balanced life.
