Look homeward

Making the transition from military back to civilian life can be tough. According to a survey by Pew Research, more than one-quarter of vets say re-entry was difficult.

We tend to think life as a civilian must be a cinch after time in the military. But many vets are suffering, especially those who were stationed in a combat zone, were injured themselves or know someone who was injured or killed.

That’s one reason for Home Base Iowa, a program that aims to help vets find good jobs, explore new careers and transition to life in the state. The initiative, in conjunction with the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation, makes it easier to locate essentials like help with housing and rentals, educational options, job training and financial assistance.  Check this page out for more info: http://ow.ly/9CMZ303Fwig.
