Spencer a finalist for 'Technology Community of the Year'

Spencer has been revealed as a 2017 Prometheus Awards finalist for Iowa's Technology Community of the Year. The LWBJ Prometheus awards have been recognizing excellence in Iowa's technology industry for 12 years.
"The city is extremely excited about being nominated as one of the communities for Technology Community of the Year Award. We have some amazing things going on in Spencer in this area. StartupCity Spencer along with IGL, TechKnow and the city's library are just a few of the groups working to promote and grow technology in Spencer," Spencer City Manager Bob Fagen said. "The city is also blessed with the investments that SMU has put into our fiber optics. We feel we that we are at the forefront of technology in the state of Iowa."
"We are honored to be finalists and thankful to LS2 (Group) who nominated us." SMU Community Relations Manager Amanda Gloyd said.
