ESTHERVILLE — Fourteen women successfully completed the four-week course, Women Managing Crops, offered this spring in Graettinger by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
This course was designed for women of all ages and experience levels who wanted to learn about key agronomic decisions for corn and soybean production. The sessions took a seasonal approach and covered decision making considerations for preplanting, the growing phase and harvest.
At the end of the four-week course, participants stated they knew more about seed selection, spring and fall tillage practices, crop insurance, nutrient management, field scouting, cover crops, storage and drying, and harvesting practices.
This program was conducted from 9 a.m. to noon starting on March 21 at Immaculate Conception Parish Center in Graettinger.
