Higher education for high-tech workers

Locales that have the biggest pools of highly trained workers have higher education readily available. It just makes sense. Students are attracted to schools with good reputations. After graduation, many stay in the area, especially if it has amenities like affordable housing, outdoor recreation and good healthcare.
The Iowa Lakes Corridor excels in opportunities for higher education, one of the biggest reasons it can boast of its high-tech workforce. Look at Buena Vista University, on the shore of Storm Lake. The first wireless community in the nation, it built the $26 million Estelle Siebens Science Center a decade ago.
Iowa Lakes Community College, with five campuses in the region, offers one of the most respected Wind Energy and Turbine Technology programs in the country. Iowa Central Community College provides many industrial technical training programs.
