Southern Minnesota Northern Iowa Wine Trail
Adventure Begins At The End Of The Roads You Know
Mankato, MN – Calling all wine adventurers and enthusiasts! Travel and experience the most captivating local wineries in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa with the Southern Minnesota Northern Iowa Wine Trail passport! New to 2019!
The adventure begins by purchasing a $10 passport at any participating winery, including ten (10) in southern Minnesota (Aspelund Winery, Chankaska Creek Ranch and Winery, The Cheese Cave, Crow River Winery, Indian Island Winery, Javens Family Vineyard and Winery, Morgan Creek Vineyards and Winery, Next Chapter Winery, Painted Prairie Vineyard, and Round lake Vineyards & Winery) and two (2) in northern Iowa (Frisky Fox Vineyard, and Little Swan Lake Winery). The adventure continues as participants embark on the journey to visit them all! The Southern Minnesota Northern Iowa Wine Trail passport includes valuable promotions for each winery, and participants receive a stamp at each venue when promotion is redeemed. (Passport must be presented along with a valid ID at each location in order to redeem the promotion.)
Adventuring, experiencing great wine, and supporting local business has been the focus on this new initiative. “We are excited about this border trail and hope people look at it as a social wine experience. Start at one end or the other and make a weekend adventure of it," says CEO Scott Ellenbecker of Round Lake Vineyards & Winery. It is an opportunity to revisit your favorite local winery and experience new ones. “Creating a wine trail of Minnesota and Iowa wineries is a win-win for everyone! Passport holders receive great deals at a variety of wineries and the wineries get a chance to showcase their craft to visitors who may not have otherwise stopped in. We can't wait!” exclaims Jackie Brockway, manager of Next Chapter Winery. The Southern Minnesota Northern Iowa Wine Trail passport is a great way to bring wine lovers and wine makers together. “We are so excited and honored to be part of the SMNNIA Wine Trail. Showcasing numerous wineries all in one passport is a genius way to promote them! We can’t wait to meet new people and hopefully get to meet other wineries. Cheers!” responds Courtney Malone of Chankaska Creek Ranch and Winery.
Behind the new local initiative, there are great local sponsors, KEYC News 12 and Minuteman Press Mankato. "Thanks to the marketing efforts of our local media leadership KEYC News 12 - we are eager to support the SMNNIA Wine Trail showcasing our regional communities while building cool and fun co-operative wine adventures and its many landscapes!" says Paula Marti of Morgan Creek Vineyards. Thank you to both KEYC News 12 and Minuteman Press Mankato!
