October is Manufacturing Month! Created to show the reality of modern manufacturing, Manufacturing Month and Manufacturing Day help employers show their communities what manufacturing is really about.
FUN FACT: Manufacturing accounts for 87.9% of Iowa’s exports.
The first Friday of October is Manufacturing Day, a day focused on showcasing what manufacturing is and dispelling myths of what it isn’t. Many companies throughout the nation hosted events to give students and community members a chance to step into the manufacturing realm and learn more about the industry. The goal of Manufacturing Day is to affect the public perception of manufacturing, to allow the public to experience real manufacturing environments and expose the negative thoughts and stereotypes associated with the industry.
DID YOU KNOW: there are 2,967 MFG Day events planned across the country in October 2019?
There are a variety of manufacturing companies in the Corridor Region.
DID YOU KNOW: Taken alone, manufacturing in the U.S. would be the 9th largest economy in the world?
