October is Manufacturing Month! Created to show the reality of modern manufacturing, Manufacturing Month and Manufacturing Day help employers show their communities what manufacturing is really about.

The first Friday of October is Manufacturing Day, a day focused on showcasing what manufacturing is and dispelling myths of what it isn’t. Many companies throughout the nation hosted events to give students and community members a chance to step into the manufacturing realm and learn more about the industry. The goal of Manufacturing Day is to affect the public perception of manufacturing, to allow the public to experience real manufacturing environments and expose the negative thoughts and stereotypes associated with the industry.

There are a variety of manufacturing companies in the Corridor Region.

These companies have many different jobs available with projected growth over the next few years. Many careers in manufacturing are middle-skill jobs, meaning that they require some training past high school, but do not require a bachelor’s degree.
