Shopping Small: Chamber Fun

It’s that time of year again. A time of giving and enjoying the season with loved ones. The weather is colder, our homes seem that much warmer, and we’re thinking of those in our lives who make each day better.

With this year looking different than most, shopping local is as important as ever. Our local businesses are integral to our communities, and they have a variety of products for our family, friends, and even a few things just for us! Shopping small not only supports the business owners in our communities, but it helps keep your money circulating in the region, which impacts other local businesses and individuals as well!

Our local chambers have fun activities and promotions through the holiday shopping season to encourage our communities to shop local at our region's small businesses. From video series that showcase local businesses, to a BINGO card to complete for chances to win Chamber Dollars, check out what some of our communities are doing to help you shop small:

Estherville Chamber of Commerce: Holi-YAY Cheer

By shopping at Estherville retailers and restaurants, you can get a chance to win gift cards or Estherville Bucks. Spend $20 or more at the participating retailers and restaurants in the ‘ville for your chance to win!

Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce: Shop, Eat, Support Local!

The IGLA Chamber launched “30 Days to Shopping Small” promoting local businesses from October 28^th through Small Business Saturday® on November 28^th. Each day, IGLA shared a video featuring a business for shopping, eating, or supporting through this holiday season. These videos share different promotions and deals going on right now as well. If you need ideas for gifts or things to do this holiday season, make sure to check out the videos from the Supporting Local series.

Spencer Chamber: Shine the Light BINGO

The Spencer Chamber has released four different BINGO cards. Each card has a variety of challenges or tasks for you to do to support the community. Each week from now until December 21^st, you can submit a BINGO card for a chance to win $50 Spencer Chamber Dollars. Each bingo entry from all four weeks will also be put into one large drawing at the end for a chance to win $100 Chamber Dollars.

Storm Lake United: 12 Days of Christmas

From December 8^th through December 19^th, Storm Lake United is helping spread the joy this season with savings and drawings for those who shop locally. Daily drawings will be for Storm Lake Bucks or gift cards for restaurants in Storm Lake.
