Microgrants available for businesses in the Iowa Lakes Corridor
The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation (Corridor) and Northwest Iowa Planning and Development Commission announce a microgrant program available to businesses in Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson and Emmet counties.
The Corridor COVID-19 Business Recovery Grant is a competitive grant program that assists regional businesses and industry with recovery from the coronavirus pandemic. The program is funded through a grant from the US Department of Commerce.
“These microgrant awards will empower Corridor-region businesses with resources needed to take a step forward towards recovery and expansion,” states Brian Dalziel, Interim President & CEO of the Iowa Lakes Corridor.
Matching grants up to $3,000 are available. The match requirement is one-half the total amount of the grant award. For example, a business receiving a $3,000 grant would be required to provide a $1,500 match.
Primary objectives are to aid businesses in enhancing their online presence, developing new products and services and capturing new market opportunities. Particular emphasis will be placed on improving the safety of consumer experiences via sales online.
A small number of grants are available. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and grants awarded until all funds are exhausted. Measures may be taken to ensure that grants are distributed across all four counties and that retail, service and manufacturing/production businesses are represented among the recipients.
