Iowa Lakes Corridor to host Supply Chain Event

The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation (Corridor) has teamed up with the Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS) at Iowa State University (ISU) to provide a free NW Iowa Supply Chain event at the Clay County Regional Events Center on March 22nd, 2022.

“Managing your Supply Chain during the time of Chaos” will feature speakers from CIRAS and the ISU Ivy College of Business Department of Supply Chain Management. Topics will include managing your supply chain during disruptions, building a resilient supply chain, utilizing Total Cost of Ownership in decision making, finding new suppliers via supplier scouting, supply chain risk management and an introduction to Industry 4.0, automation and new technologies.

“The series of recent disruptions to our supply chains have left many companies wondering how they can get a handle on the situation,” shared Marc Schneider, Project Manager with CIRAS. “While there is no magic wand that can instantly fix the situation this event will provide attendees with a variety of tools and strategies they can use to better manage their currently supply chains and build more resilient future supply chains.”

This event is free to attend. It is funded through a grant in partnership with Northwest Iowa Planning and Development.

“As our local industries are facing challenges with supply chain, workforce and other economic impacts we feel that it is important for the Corridor team to bring forward resources to help with navigating these challenges to ultimately assist the company in reaching their growth and performance goals,” said Corridor President & CEO Shannon Landauer. “The team at Iowa State University’s CIRAS program are subject matter experts that focus on technical assistance and supply chain with expertise in advanced manufacturing and other topics. We are excited to have the opportunity to bring this event to the Corridor region.”

After the event, qualified participants will be provided an opportunity to discuss engaging CIRAS and the Ivy College of Business CyLab to execute supply chain improvement projects within their companies.
