Responsibilities

This is a full-time, 260-day position located on the Emmetsburg or Estherville Campus of Iowa Lakes Community College. The Academic Advisor will be responsible for a caseload of a minimum of 250 students enrolled in Career & Technical Education, AA/AS, and Transfer Pathways. Using a Guided Pathways approach, key responsibilities of this position include academic advising and course registration, monitoring academic and Pathway progress of assigned students, timely response to student inquiries, and proactively connecting students to academic resources and support services. Will be required to travel within community college service area utilizing personal vehicle. Some statewide or regional travel may be required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; experience with academic advising or closely related field of student services; experience working with traditional and non-traditional students; commitment to professional development and continuous improvement. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working within a Guided Pathways advising model; experience working with Multiple Measures; experience working with Dropout Detective, Canvas, Ellucian, Pathify, and/or similar software platforms; experience working with international students, student athletes, and /or ADA-accommodated students; experience with non-academic assessment; experience working in a data-driven, learner-centered environment
