Housing

Community Housing Initiatives is thrilled to highlight a new strategy creating infill housing in a tourist heavy community where lands costs are prohibitive to affordable development. This is a celebration recognizing the preservation of 20 project-based LIHTC units, and creative land use to construct an additional ten family units on an existing site. The selection of this project for our NeighborWorks Week 2026 project emphasizes the importance of affordable housing in the community. The creation of new housing at Summerfield Park reflects our organization's commitment to creative solutions to meet community needs, a direct correlation to the NeighborWorks theme of building community spirit and celebrating community resilience. This event will emphasize partnerships with business, non-profit organizations, and health care providers. It also aligns CHI with other community supporters and allows us an incredible opportunity to reinforce the value of being part of NeighborWorks with Iowa’s members of Congress.
