Shannon Landauer Wins 40 Under 40 in Economic Development Award

Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation (Corridor) President & CEO Shannon Landauer, CEcD, has been announced as a recipient of the 2023 Economic Development 40 Under 40 Award, the biennial award recognizing rising stars under 40 years old in the economic development industry.

The awards program is hosted by Development Counsellors International (DCI), a New York-based integrated marketing firm that works with economic development and travel organizations around the globe, and Jorgenson Consulting, a leading national executive search firm serving organizations in non-profit, economic, and community development industries. An independent selection committee of six economic development leaders and site selection consultants evaluated nominations based on demonstration of strong leadership, commitment and innovation every day in the workplace.

Landauer was hired as the Corridor’s President & CEO in July 2021. Prior to joining the Corridor, she was the Executive Director of the Carroll Area Development Corporation and Carroll Chamber of Commerce. Her professional training includes the Heartland Basic Economic Development Course, the Oklahoma University Economic Development Institute, IEDC Workforce Development Strategies and she has held a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) Designation since 2017. Landauer currently serves as the Past President on the Professional Developers of Iowa (PDI) Board of Directors, has served as faculty and now on the board for the Heartland Economic Development Course, and is involved in various other boards and committees including the Iowa DOT’s Advisory Council on Automated Transportation in the Economic Development Sub-Committee, the Empower Rural Iowa Committee and the Iowa Rural Development Commission Board.

The ceremony was held in conjunction with the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) 2023 Leadership Summit, the only conference held exclusively for Certified Economic Developers and senior managers in the profession.
