Company Profile: MWI Components

Metal Works, Inc. was originally founded in 1985 with roots in Spencer. Since then, they have upheld their values and made building on the job site easier. You can find their products in the construction of metal-clad post frame buildings, equestrian complexes, garages, storage buildings, commercial buildings, steel frame and residential buildings. MWI is proud to call the Iowa Lakes Corridor home – the community and people who live here hold values that the company deems essential for a fulfilling life.

Thirteen years after being founded, Metal Works, Inc. added a marketing/distribution division to the company, known as MWI Components. In 2006 MWI purchased the slide door track and hardware division of Lawrence Hardware enabling MWI to offer a complete selection of American-made round and square track, hardware essentials and slide frame. Then in 2013, the separate companies of Metal Works, Inc. and MWI Components merged to form what is now recognized as MWI Components. In 2019, MWI expanded the facility to the east side of Spencer where the foil insulation, Infinity Shield™, product line is manufactured. Now they employ about 60 employees between their two Spencer locations.

Products include Arcadian and Dutch Doors, Horse Stalls, Soffit and Gable End Ventilation, Box Girts, Hardware Essentials and Track/Slide Frame, Cupolas and Weathervanes, Ridge Ventilation, Polycarbonate/PVC products, Infinity Shield™ Reflective Insulation, Sealants and Retrofit products and Building Accessories. These products go to customers across the United States and Canada.
