South Okoboji Development Finalizes Land Sale to Green Acres Homes

85 + New Homes to be created in Milford

Milford, Iowa – South Okoboji Development has finalized the sale of approximately 17 acres of land to Green Acres Homes for the purpose of creating a new residential community in Milford.

The South Okoboji Development, located off Highway 86 in Milford next to GrapeTree Medical Staffing, aims to provide essential housing for all levels identified in the recent Milford Housing Study, from workforce housing to single and multi-family homes. This is a part of a broader initiative by South Okoboji Development to make a positive impact in the region through targeted economic development and housing.  

Monte Burrell of Green Acres Homes, the developer for the housing project, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration. "We are excited to work with South Okoboji Development on this community. We look forward to providing high-quality homes and workforce housing in addition to helping strengthen the community by attracting new residents and supporting the local economy."

Drew Hage of South Okoboji Development emphasized the significance of the transaction. "This land sale is a key step in our ongoing efforts to enhance the Okoboji region. Through partnerships, our goal is to provide a range of housing options and promote economic growth. We are looking to invest in the Okoboji area to create a thriving and sustainable year round community.  Development will increase the tax base in this area and that will help to support community projects in Milford.”

In addition to this project, South Okoboji Development is actively negotiating further opportunities including single-family, multi-family, and commercial.
