The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation is celebrating Manufacturing Month through tours at manufacturing businesses in each county of the Corridor Region. The last Manufacturing Month Tour was hosted at Ranco Fertiservice, Inc. in Sioux Rapids.
Ranco Fertiservice, Inc. started in 1961 by Raymond Alan Nation, Glen Gillett, and Paul Krile. The company is an innovator of fertilizer blending and handling equipment with a continuous-flow, volumetric blender as the first product. Now, the company has expanded products to serve other industries like coffee, soybeans, feed, and coal. The company prides itself on providing customers with a customized approach and quality service.
The company stayed under founder Paul Krile until 2011 when his two sons took ownership. In 2014, Jeff Krile became the sole owner, and in 2015, Ranco’s stock was sold to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), which made the company 100% employee owned.
Ranco has continued expanding in Sioux Rapids since its founding, now with multiple buildings in town including their West Shop, Main Office, Rantec Building downtown, and more. They produce augers, blenders, bucket elevators, conveyors, structures, and other equipment and sell these products across the world.
During the tour, attendees were able to learn more about the products, how they are made, and the reach of these products.
