SEDC awards Commercial Business Assistance Grants

SPENCER, IOWA – Spencer Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) has announced 38 Commercial Business Assistance Grants to businesses within Spencer impacted by the flooding last summer.

 

Applications for the program opened February 3. As of March 7, 38 grants had been awarded for a total of $747,000 in assistance to Spencer businesses to reimburse for equipment, furniture, and inventory lost in the June 2024 natural disaster.

 

Funds are currently still available with applications open until April 1, 2025 or until funds are depleted. Reimbursable expenditures must be incurred before June 6, 2025.

 

“We appreciate the businesses and their teams that have reinvested into Spencer,” said SEDC President Philip Ramstack. “SEDC is honored to support the businesses that call this community home.”

 

This grant fund program was made possible in partnership with the City of Spencer and Spencer Municipal Utilities.
