The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation (Corridor) is teaming up with the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) Strategic Marketing Services and the Institute for Decision Making (IDM) to launch a regional wage and benefit study in April and May.
Launching on Wednesday, April 23rd, businesses throughout Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson, and Emmet counties will be receiving an email with a questionnaire to complete, which will assist area employers and economic development groups with ensuring Northwest Iowa remains an attractive and competitive place to live and work. Questions will cover specific hourly/salary wages for occupations, benefits, workforce trends, community amenities, and organization demographics.
Survey results will assist the Corridor and its local businesses with workforce recruitment and identifying workforce trends. Reports based on survey results will be provided to participating businesses to allow them to benchmark their organization against similar organizations in Northwest Iowa. Results will be released by July 2025.
“We appreciate the partnership with the UNI Strategic Marketing Services and Institute for Decision Making as we conduct this Wage & Benefit survey,” said Corridor President & CEO Curt Strouth. “This data will assist our local businesses with workforce development and recruitment data.”
Questions can be directed to the Corridor’s Business Retention and Workforce Partnership Coordinator Joanne Follon at 712-264-3474 or Chelsea Morrison at Strategic Marketing Services by email at chelsea.morrison@uni.edu.
