The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation (Corridor) has announced the top five Big IDEAs moving on to the live pitch competition on April 1, 2025.
After two weeks of public voting on entrepreneurial ideas submitted to the Corridor, the top five are Fuller Radiance LLC (Cody Fuller), Spencer Create Catalyst (Vanessa Moore), Glacier Made (Jack Bauermeister), Boji Bites (Jeff Krage), and Outlaw Kicks (Cayden Fischer). These five finalists will compete in an in-person pitch competition on Tuesday, April 1.
The Big IDEA Challenge is a program designed to support the Innovative Development of businesses through Empowering entrepreneurs and Accelerating small business growth. It allows entrepreneurs the chance to submit their dreams to start or expand their business, then encourage friends, family, and customers to vote for them online. Public votes account for 10% of scoring in the final in-person pitch competition with $10,000 in prize money to be awarded.
“We had some great Big IDEAs submitted this year, and we are excited to see these five in person on April 1,” shares Corridor Senior Vice President of Economic Development Trevor Smith. “Even more so, we are excited for each of them to run with their ideas and continue the entrepreneurial spirit and achievement in the region.”
These businesses are all located within the Iowa Lakes Corridor’s four-county region, are in early development or operational stage, looking to expand a product or from part time to full time, or are looking to expand into a storefront location.
The in-person pitch event is closed to the public, but awardees will be announced after the event. Pitches will be judged by a panel of business professionals and business owners from across the four-county Corridor region.
