The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation (Corridor) welcomes two new board members in 2025: Thomas Nelson, Commercial Lender at Bank Midwest in Spirit Lake; and Doug Vlasman, Manager of Business & Community Development at Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative in Estherville. Nelson and Vlasman were appointed to the Corridor’s Board of Directors this summer to fulfill the remaining terms of outgoing board members Keith Deitering and Jed Skogerboe due to career changes or retirement. The new members will add their leadership experience and guidance to the Board of Directors as the Corridor continues to help the region’s businesses thrive and to ensure its residents enjoy an active and rewarding quality of life in the Iowa Lakes Corridor region.
“Though we are sad to see Keith and Jed leave the Corridor Board of Directors, having Tom and Doug join the board is exciting for our team,” shared Corridor President & CEO Curt Strouth. “Both of them have extensive experience in Economic Development within and outside of our four-county region, and we appreciate their willingness to step into these roles to drive the ship toward opportunity for the region and Northwest Iowa.”
The Corridor Board of Directors consists of four Corridor member representatives from each of the four counties in the region, Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson, and Emmet. Board members serve three year terms and are eligible for up to two consecutive terms.
