City of Milford Approves Support for Rosenboom Manufacturing Expansion
Milford, Iowa —The City of Milford has formally approved a Resolution of Support for a proposed manufacturing expansion by Rosenboom, reaffirming the community’s support for advanced manufacturing investment and long-term job growth in Northwest Iowa.

The project includes the acquisition and build-out of a new manufacturing facility located at 2188 Highway 86 in Milford and represents a significant expansion of Rosenboom’s existing operations. The new facility will provide additional capacity, improved production layouts, and expanded use of advanced automation that cannot be accommodated within the current facility footprint.

Project activity is anticipated to begin on or around June 1, 2026, with development and implementation expected to occur over an approximate four- to five-year timeframe.

The Rosenboom Milford expansion is expected to create approximately 70–80 new full-time positions across production, manufacturing support, and administrative functions. These roles will offer competitive wages and comprehensive benefits and will be supported by enhanced workforce training aligned with advanced manufacturing technologies.

“Rosenboom’s planned expansion reflects the type of long-term, high-quality investment that strengthens our local economy and creates meaningful career opportunities,” said LeAnn Reinsbach, City Administrator of Milford. “The City is pleased to express its support and continue working collaboratively with state, regional, and private partners to help this project move forward.”

“This project represents a strategic investment in Iowa and in the Milford community,” said Brian Rosenboom, President of Rosenboom. “The new facility will allow us to expand production capacity, invest in advanced automation and technology, and support both job creation and workforce development over the coming years.

Rosenboom is committed to continued growth in Northwest Iowa and across the Iowa Great Lakes region. This investment reflects not only our confidence in the long-term strength of this region, but also our commitment to the talented workforce and dedicated team members who make our success possible.”

“This project represents the kind of organic, regional growth we work to support across the Corridor,” said Curt Strouth, President and CEO of the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation. “By expanding operations connected to Rosenboom’s Spirit Lake facility, this investment strengthens Rosenboom’s manufacturing capacity in Dickinson County while keeping long-term growth rooted in Northwest Iowa.”

Rosenboom is a family-owned advanced manufacturing company with more than 50 years of experience. Headquartered in Northwest Iowa, Rosenboom operates manufacturing facilities in Sheldon and Spirit Lake, Iowa, as well as Bowling Green, Ohio. The company specializes in custom-engineered hydraulic cylinders and precision-machined components serving a broad range of industries, including construction, agriculture, transportation, military, utility, renewable energy, and general industrial markets. Rosenboom’s diversified customer base and focus on value-added manufacturing contribute to long-term economic resilience and stability.

The project is being advanced in coordination with the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) through the Business Incentives for Growth (BIG) Program, as well as the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation and local partners. The City’s Resolution of Support enables continued coordination among state, regional, and local stakeholders as the project progresses through review and implementation phases.

Further project planning, utility coordination, and development activities are expected to proceed following state and local review processes.
