Responsibilities

You’ll take on a variety of process and industrial engineering tasks aimed at boosting productivity across our manufacturing operations. You'll lead the charge on new product launches, ensuring manufacturing processes are seamlessly integrated. Your responsibilities will include designing and optimizing new processes and championing continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, capacity, product quality, reduce scrap, and improve coworker safety. 1. Support the new product development process by providing initial cost estimates, participating in pre-production trials, and fine-tuning process parameters, routings, and bills of material. Suggest product and process changes based on trial observations. 2. Design efficient, lean manufacturing processes for new product launches. Analyze current capacity and capabilities to determine the need for new or modified equipment. 3. Develop process flows, equipment layouts, and capital requirements for new products. 4. Collaborate with mechanical engineers to specify, procure, and set up new or modified equipment and manufacturing processes. 5. Help process teams develop and implement standardized work procedures. 6. Finalize routings and costs for new product introductions. 7. Lead and/or participate in kaizen activities to meet or exceed operational metrics. 8. Oversee capital projects focused on production floor improvements in productivity, capacity, quality, or safety. 9. Review and update labor and machine routings by conducting time studies, monitoring workflows, and analyzing production data to ensure SAP routings and work centers are accurate. 10. Use quality tools to evaluate process capability and variability, applying process controls to limit variability. 11. Design ergonomically optimized workstations and work cells, preventing injuries and illnesses. Investigate and address root causes of ergonomic-related issues. 12. Design and specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment. 13. Conduct root cause analysis for production or quality issues and implement effective countermeasures to prevent recurrence. 14. Qualify new raw materials on current production equipment through production trials and testing.

Qualifications

• At least three (3) years of relevant experience is preferred. • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Process, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred. • Lean manufacturing experience in a high-volume production environment. • Previous experience with industrial packaging equipment and processes is a plus. • Familiarity with injection molding and/or plastic extrusion processes is a bonus. • Proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD
