Journeyman Electrician
Responsibilities
• Utilize hand tools and testing instruments to perform professional-grade work. • Inspect and test a variety of electrical systems, lighting, power, communication, and signal circuits. • Diagnose issues in wiring and electrical equipment using voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and test lamps. • Replace defective switches, sockets, and components with precision and care. • Disassemble and repair electrical machinery, including gears, brushes, and armatures. • Install and wire motors, transformers, lighting systems, and related components per specifications. • Follow all established safety procedures to ensure a secure work environment. • Inspect completed work to confirm compliance with local codes and safety standards. • Estimate time and materials required for upcoming electrical projects. • Requisition materials, tools, and parts necessary for efficient job completion. • Independently perform a variety of non-routine electrical tasks, adjusting methods and tools as needed. • Apply expert-level troubleshooting to resolve electrical issues, escalating only when necessary.
Qualifications
• Strong experience with electrical/electronic controls (PLC systems, drives, temperature and pressure sensors, etc.), from installation to programming. • Ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics fluently. • Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry safety standards. • A valid Journeyman Electrician license is required. • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance or related fields. • Please include your Journeyman license number when applying.
