The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation is celebrating Manufacturing Month through tours at manufacturing businesses in each county of the Corridor Region. The first Manufacturing Month Tour was hosted at Art’s Way Manufacturing in Armstrong.

Their website states that Art’s Way works to build a legacy by manufacturing dependable, specialized farm equipment so independent-minded operators can do the hard work that leads to sustainable, self-sufficient, and profitable operation for generations to come.

Art’s Way Manufacturing was started by Arthur Luscome in 1956 to produce and sell a powered grinder mixer that he developed on his farm near Dolliver, Iowa. The company now has approximately 90 employees with two business divisions in two facilities. Luscome’s dedication to innovation, quality, and durability remain the focus of the business, as they manufacture quality farm and construction equipment, agricultural buildings, and modular laboratories through Art’s Way Manufacturing and Art’s Way Scientific. The publicly traded company is governed by a five-person board of directors.

The Armstrong location, Art’s Way Manufacturing, employs over 60 individuals in producing farm equipment products like grinder mixers, manure spreaders, forage boxes, dump carts, feed mill equipment, beet harvesters, and more.

During the tour, attendees were able to learn more about the products, how they are made, and the reach of these products across the Midwest, the country, and even the world.
