Iowa Lakes Corridor to be featured on the big screen

IOWA LAKES CORRIDOR TO BE FEATURED ON THE BIG SCREEN
“My Town” series selected to premiere at Twin Cities Film Fest

A film featuring various aspects of life and culture in the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation (Corridor) region will make its debut at the 15^th Annual Twin Cities Film Fest taking place October 17-26 in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. The Corridor was selected for this new documentary-style series called “My Town” produced by The Brookshire Company (Brookshire).

The “My Town” series, written and directed by Emmy Award-winning documentarian Cory Hepola breaks down the popular misconceptions and negative stereotypes of the rural lifestyle. The first season includes seven communities in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin. The Corridor was the only Iowa community selected for Season 1. The Corridor’s episode focuses on the spirit of entrepreneurship, community, and opportunity in the four-county region.

“We’re honored ‘My Town’ has been hand-picked for the prestigious Twin Cities Film Fest,” said Hepola. “Our series inspires important conversations about the rural lifestyle, and the Twin Cities Film Fest is the premier changemaker event in the upper Midwest.”

The Corridor’s episode will premiere in “My Town: Part 1” on Saturday, October 19^th at 4:30 p.m. “My Town: Part 2” will show Thursday, October 24^th at 7:30 p.m. The worldwide premiere will include a red-carpet event and Q&A session with Hepola in the Twin Cities.

The episode will be streamed on the My Town Series on YouTube and Facebook after the premiere event in October.
